VACUUBRAND VARIO chemistry pumping units control the vacuum level with pinpoint precision by adjusting the diaphragm pump's motor speed continuously. They enable automatic detection of vapour pressure and variable adjustment of the vacuum level to the process. The fast and precise adaptive control always adjusts the pumping speed to the optimal level, regardless of installation size or gas volume. Process times are shortened by the high evaporation rate. Through constant evaporation, an optimal solvent recovery rate can be achieved. On the whole, the demand-oriented motor speed control reduces the workload of the vacuum pump significantly. This leads to unrivalled lifetimes for moving parts.


Application

For evaporation, distillation, drying and all other processes that require precise vacuum control, continuously adjustable pumping speed or demand-oriented vacuum supply.

The Vacuum Controller CVC 3000 quickly determines the optimal vacuum level and adjusts it fully automatically according to the process demands. It has an integrated capacitive vacuum sensor made of alumina ceramic. Another feature of the CVC 3000 are the ten freely configurable programs, which can be edited and stored easily.

Even with gas ballast the chemistry pumping units reach excellent ultimate vacuum levels. This enables the easy evaporation of even high-boiling solvents.

Vacuubrand Chemistry Vacuum Systems, with upgrade kits for vacuum controlling and gauging

Chemistry vacuum systems are a compact and space-saving solution with inlet separator (AK) against particles and droplets. An exhaust vapour condenser (EK) enables effective solvent recovery for protection of the environment and economic re-use of solvents.

SYNCHRO systems allow for the simultaneous operation of two separate vacuum applications and have two inlet connections with manual flow control valves as well as non-return valves against cross contamination.

Upgrade kits are availabe for the retrofitting of electronic vacuum controlling with the help of solenoid valves and vacuum controllers.

For the evacuation and transfer of aggressive gases, rotary evaporation, gel drying, vacuum concentration etc.

 Application

The VACUUBRAND laboratory pumping unit PC 3 is designed for fine vacuum generation especially for application in a chemistry laboratory: efficient, easy to operate, compact. The PC 3 offers an experience based combination of useful and efficient components to make work easier and to overcome typical problems.

The pumping unit is equipped with a two stage rotary vane pump (from the series RZ 2, RZ 5, RZ 8 or RZ 16) at the user's choice. High water vapour capacity and ease of maintenance, excellent ultimate vacuum even with gas ballast. The rotary vane vacuum pump is protected by the glass cold trap GKF 1000i. The GKF 1000i is vacuum insulated and silver anti-reflection-coated and provides therefore an increased coolant lifetime. For a higher degree of safety, the GKF 1000i is protected against external damage and implosion by a shield. The PC 3 is an extremely compact and light system for easy handling. It is supplied with an inlet butterfly valve, gas ballast, an exhaust oil mist eliminator and a vacuum gauge port. The pumping unit is shipped ready for use.

The combination of VACUUBRAND diaphragm pumps with a high performance roots pump extends the scope of applications as regards ultimate vacuum and pumping speed essentially. VACUUBRAND roots pumping units RP feature a low ultimate vacuum in the range of 10-1 mbar with high pumping speed ranging from 6 to 35 m3/h. The problem of the increasing amount of contaminated waste oil is drastically reduced, since there is no oil in the pump chamber for lubrication and sealing.
Application

Roots pumping units RP are advantageous in a growing number of applications where high pumping speed below 50 mbar is required and where environmental considerations are ruling out other methods. Typical applications include e.g. distillation, freeze drying or evaporation under reduced thermal load, oil free systems such as load lock systems, electron microscopes and mass spectrometers or as low contamination backing pump for turbomolecular pumps, cryopumps etc.

Application

Efficient, reliable and easy-to-operate vacuum devices are essential for successful and time-saving work in laboratories. The VACUUBRAND high vacuum pumping units HP 40B2 and HP 63B2 offer these characteristics to meet customer requirements.

The complete high vacuum pumping units include:

  • an air cooled oil diffusion pump
  • a two stage rotary pump RZ 2 (HP 40B2) resp. RZ 5 (HP 63B2) as backing and roughing pump
  • all internal pipes and valves, including high vacuum and ventilation valve as well as by-pass line and valve.
The units are ready for operation, mounted in a portable pillar stand, castor as accessories.

 

Advantages

The high-vacuum pumping units HP 40B2 and HP 63B2 are particularly:
  • Efficient
    The backing pump always provides the necessary backing pressure and the diffusion pump can thus attain its full pumping capacity of 22 l/s (resp. 37 l/s) and its ultimate pressure in the 10-6 mbar range (with pump fluid DC 704).
  • Rapid
    The pumping units have a butterfly valve above the diffusion pump, by-pass line and valve are therefore particularly efficient for rapid evacuation cycles where the oil diffusion pump is always maintained heated and ready for operation.
  • Functional and easy-to-operate
    Smaller experimental set ups can be mounted directly on the high-vacuum pumping units. Switches for backing- and diffusion pump are centrally grouped in a panel. A short operation diagram makes the units easy to use. All valves and switches are operated from the front. The pumping units are vacuum-tight after switching off (when gas ballast valve is closed).
  • Handy and sturdy
    Pump, valves and pipes are compactly mounted in a pillar stand. Due to small overall dimensions and their light mass, the pumping units can easily be transported to the systems to be evacuated, and can be accommodated almost everywhere. In practice, the high vacuum pumping units are often used as table top on laboratory benches, because of their light weight and compactness.
  • Economical
    The high-vacuum pumping units HP 40B2 and HP 63B2 have an electrical consumption of only 400 watts and need no water supply.

Oil-free generation of vacuum with NT diaphragm pumps - the new technology

Application

Diaphragm pumps of the NT-series are oil-free dry running pumps for the generation of vacuum as well as the delivery and evacuation of gases and vapours. In chemical laboratories they are the more powerful and modern alternative to water jet pumps, because they are more friendly to the environment at minimized operation and maintenance costs. Typical applications: on vacuum drying chambers, for distillation,  drying, and vacuum filtering but also as backing pump for turbo-molecular pumps, gas transfer and the like. The pumps produce little noise and vibrations and are therefore ideal for installation in sensitive devices (e.g. chemical analysis).

Advantages

There are one-, two- three- and four-stage pumps available. The vacuum performance has been increased considerably, which expands the application field for both laboratory and industrial use. The one-stage pumps are designed for an ultimate vacuum of 70 mbar, the two-stage pumps for 7 mbar, the three-stage pumps for down to 1 mbar and the four-stage pumps for 0.5 mbar. International Protection code for all NT models is IP 42 (except those with switchable dual-voltage motors). The NT pumps are designed very compact and are exceptionally quiet and smooth-running. Smooth housing surfaces (except for the two-cylinder aluminium version) make the NT diaphragm pumps easy to clean. On the whole the pumps work almost maintenance-free. All models have easily changeable valves and diaphragms.

 

Chemistry version "C":

Here the pumped gasses only come into contact with fluoroplastics of optimal chemical resistance, e.g. with a PTFE sandwich-diaphragm, clamping disc and head cover made of carbon reinforced ETFE with stability core, ECTFE cylinder head, perfluorelastomer valves and PTFE connections. Gas inlet and outlet with hose nozzles.

  • enhanced vacuum performance: higher pumping speed, better ultimate vacuum
  • use of fluoroplastics with optimal chemical resistance
  • extended diaphragm lifetime due to PTFE-sandwich-design and optimal diaphragm fixation

  • whisper quiet and very low vibration due to compact drive with patented drive system
  • easy to clean due to smooth exterior surfaces
  • high vapour tolerance due to integrated tubing connections. The types MZ 2C NT and MD 4C NT come equipped with a gas ballast valve

Three-stage chemistry-design diaphragm pumps are an excellent solution for continuous, oil-free pumping of corrosive gases and vapors and meet the highest requirements. The three-stage construction of the eight head MD 12C pump provides the advantageous combination of high pumping speed and very low ultimate vacuum. All internal parts in contact with pumped media are made of chemically resistant fluoroplastics. Well-proven PTFE sandwich diaphragms for increased reliability and extended operating life. The PC 8 accessory kit offers upgrading to a system with solvent recovery.

Vacuubrand Diaphragm Pump MD 4C NT

 

Three-stage chemistry-design diaphragm pumps are an excellent solution for continuous, oil-free pumping of corrosive gases and vapors and meet many difficult requirements. The three-stage construction provides the advantageous combination of high pumping speed and very low ultimate vacuum. All major parts of the MD 4C NT in contact with pumped media are made of chemically resistant fluoroplastics. Well-proven PTFE sandwich diaphragms provide increased reliability and extended operating life. The MD 4C NT with gas ballast valve is optimally prepared for pumping condensable vapors also of high boiling solvents due to its very good ultimate vacuum (even with gas ballast). The new NT-series features further improved performance data, easy service and superior vapor tolerance.

Chemistry vacuum systems are a compact and space-saving solution with inlet separator (AK) against particles and droplets. An exhaust vapor condenser (EK) enables effective solvent recovery for protection of the environment and economic re-use of solvents.

SYNCHRO systems allow for the simultaneous operation of two separate vacuum applications and have two inlet connections with manual flow control valves as well as non-return valves against cross contamination.

Upgrade kits are availabe for the retrofitting of electronic vacuum controlling with the help of solenoid valves and vacuum controllers.

Application

For the evacuation and transfer of aggressive gases, rotary evaporation, gel drying, vacuum concentration etc.
