S2000 Lightwave
Low cost Diode Array UV/Vis Spectrophotometer
- Diode array technology at an affordable price
- Instant scanning
- Lightweight and compact instrument
- Open sample compartment increasing throughput
- Robust, maintenance free construction reduces down time.
|
The Lightwave spectrophotometer uses diode array technology, which means instant scanning and no moving parts. This compact instrument is 1/3 of the size of a traditional UV/Vis spectrophotometer giving you more room on your bench.
The instrument is ideal for use in Quality Control laboratories, University Research and Teaching labs as well as in Biotechnology research laboratories. The inherent robustness of the fixed optics means that the Spectrophotometer should never need re-calibration and will survive the attention of even the most inquisitive student.
A large graphics display makes it possible to view the Spectrum or obtain large easy to read Absorbance, %Transmission or concentration readings. Microprocessor control allows Ratio (including A260/280 for DNA/RNA analysis), Multi-wavelength and kinetic measurements to be taken. Up to 99 methods can be stored in the memory.
The RS232 port enables printing to a small graphics printer or output to a PC.
Cuvettes from 10 to 40mm pathlength can be accepted, also ultra-micro cuvettes down to 70mL volume. Due to the optical arrangement stray light is not a problem and there is no need for a lid for the cuvette chamber. Any spillage can be cleaned up by removing the cuvette compartment and wiping the tray beneath.
The overall design minimised benchspace whilst at the same time making the results easily visible. A unique feature is the cuvette tray which can be used to store up to 6 x 10mm cuvettes and 4 x 40mm, and also acts as a convenient rack whilst performing tests - thereby minimising spill damage.

CO7000
Colourwave Medical Colorimeter
Digital colorimeter
Adapted for hot and humid conditions
Battery and mains powered
Compact and portable
The Colourwave Medical Colorimeter has been designed for use in small and medium sized clinics. It is a open type system that can be used with many proprietary medical test kits. It is the natural replacement for the long established CO700D digital colorimeter.
The colorimeter has been adapted for use in hot and humid environments. The filters are encased in glass to protect them from fungal attack and are enclosed in an integral filter wheel to prevent loss and damage. The PCB is coated to preserve it from damage by heat up to 45°C and from humidity.
The instrument can be powered by mains electricity or by the internal rechargeable battery allowing it to be used where the electricity supply is unpredictable.
It has a simple 3 button operation, on/off, Test and Reference. Both standard and semi micro 10mm square cuvettes can be used with the instrument. Also test tubes with a 10, 12 and 16mm diameter are acceptable.
CO700D
Medical Colorimeter
Compact digital colorimeter
Mains or battery powered
Tilted to protect against dust and damage
Measurement in Absorbance mode
Recommended by WHO
The CO700D was developed for use in developing countries as it is well suited for working in hot/humid conditions. The display is in Absorbance units and gelatin filters sealed in glass are used to select the wavelength required. A dust cover is also included.
The unit can be powered by the mains electricity supply or connected to a 12V battery via the cable leads supplied.
The CO700D has been recommended by WHO and by the "Medical Laboratory Manual for Tropical Countries - Monica Cheesbrough".
CO75
Ideal low cost digital colorimeter
Simple two button operation
Rugged and reliable
Low maintenance costs
The CO75 compact colorimeter is ideal for use in education, medical or industrial sectors. It is ultra-simple to use. With only two buttons it can be operated virtually immediately, even by inexperienced users or students. Referencing is by the touch of a button and the digital display gives clear readings of Absorbance.
The kinetics function allows rates of reactions to be monitored or plotted out to a chart recorder via the standard output, or via a suitable interface (e.g. LogIT or pH Universal) to a PC.
The CO75 is designed to withstand the rigours of a teaching laboratory with wavelength selection by drop in filters, which are stored neatly at the rear of the instrument when not in use.
Maintenance costs are kept low as the lamp is only lit when a measurement is taken, thus greatly extending its life.
CO65
Analogue colorimeter
Analogue colorimeter
Accepts cuvettes and test tubes
Separate drop in filters
The CO65 colorimeter is a mains operated instrument with a wavelength range of 400-700nm and is supplied with seven gelatin filters, cell adaptors and an instruction manual.
The instrument can accept samples in either 10mm cuvettes or 16mm test tubes with the readings given in both Absorbance and Transmission modes. Results can be printed out on a chart recorder.
For further details a full instrument specification is available.
SMALL, INEXPENSIVE COLORIMETRY FOR THE TEACHING ENVIRONMENT
|
The CO 7500 is a value for money instrument that has been designed for use in educational establishments including sixth form colleges, secondary schools, technical schools and colleges. With a large, uncluttered, digital display and simple push button controls, the instrument is ideal for students. The unit is compact and robust enough to withstand the rigours of the teaching environment, and is available in mains only or mains /internal rechargeable NiMH battery versions. The CO 7500 is easy to use. The eight filters – 440, 470, 490, 520, 550, 580, 590 and 680nm – are encased in an integral filter wheel and the wavelength required is obtained by rotating this until the relevant, colour coded, number is visible in the indicator window. The ergonomic design makes this very convenient, and filters cannot be accidentally lost or damaged. With only five buttons (on/off, reference and test, convert between Absorbance and % Transmission readings and kinetics), the instrument is ideal for beginners. When used in kinetics mode - to study rates of reaction, for example - the CO 7500 takes readings approximately every second and these can be sent to a chart recorder (via the analogue output) if required. Alternatively, the results could be downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet for graphing and other manipulation using the appropriate accessories. The samples can be measured in either standard 10mm pathlength cuvettes a minimum of 400 µl is required or in 16mm diameter test tubes (adapters for 10/12 mm test tubes are an optional accessory with the CO 7500);. There is a drain hole at the bottom of the cell compartment so that spillages do not affect the Instrument.

EASY, INEXPENSIVE COLORIMETRY FOR THE SMALL MEDICAL CLINIC
|
The CO7000 is a portable colorimeter designed for use by doctors and medical technologists in small and medium sized clinics. The unit has been tropicalised to protect it in hot and humid conditions (to 45°C and 70%, respectively); the 10 gelatin filters are encased in glass to prevent fungal growths appearing and the PCB has been conformally coated so that individual components are sealed to prevent corrosion. The instrument is powered by an internal rechargeable NiMH battery or by external power allowing it to be used where the power supply could be unreliable. The CO 7000 is very easy to use as there are only three buttons, and the wavelength required is selected by rotating an integral filter wheel. The filters are at 400, 440, 470, 490, 520, 550, 580, 590, 680 and 700nm enabling assays in the wavelength range 400 to 700 nm to be measured, and the instrument has been designed as an “open” system so that test kits for clinical and medical applications from virtually any supplier can be used. Examples of routine assays that can be measured in serum and plasma include Albumin, Cholesterol, Glucose, Creatinine, Total Protein, Urea and those in cerebrospinal fluid include Glucose and Total Protein*. The samples can be measured in either standard 10mm pathlength cuvettes (a minimum of 400 µl is required) or in 10/12/16mm diameter test tubes (adapters are included with the instrument). There is a drain hole at the bottom of the cell compartment so that spillages do not affect the instrument.
